Engineering Subject regulations
Engineering involves designing and creating processes, materials and devices. General Engineering papers are taken as part of the Bachelor of Engineering with Honours (BE(Hons)) degree at 100, 200, 300 and 500 levels.
The BE(Hons) is available in: Chemical and Process Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Materials and Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering and Software Engineering.

Prescription for the Cert(PEngPrac) The qualification regulations define the Certificate. To complete a Certificate in Professional Engineering Practice (Cert(PEngPrac)) students must complete 90 points including ENGEN270, ENGEN272, ENGEN372 and ENGEN570.

Prescription for the DipEM [1] The qualification regulations define the Diploma. To complete a Diploma in Engineering Management (DipEM) students must complete 120 points including ENGEN270, ENGEN272, ENGEN372 and ENGEN570 and 30 points from EXMBM511, EXMBM512, EXMBM521 or EXMBM532.
[1] The Diploma in Engineering Managment will not be offered in 2025.

Prescription for the GradDipEM To complete a Graduate Diploma in Engineering Management (GradDipEM) students must complete 120 points including ENGEN270, ENGEN570, ENGEN372 and 60 points from ENGEN272, EXMBM511, EXMBM512, EXMBM513, EXMBM514, EXMBM521, EXMBM522, EXMBM523 or EXMBM532.

GradCert(Eng) and GradDip(Eng) A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma is available to graduates who have not included Engineering at an advanced level in their first degree.

PGCert(Eng), PGDip(Eng) and ME To complete an ME, students must complete the equivalent of 120 points at 500 level, including either ENGEN593 or ENGEN594.

MPhil The Master of Philosophy is a one year research-based degree in which students undertake a programme of approved and supervised research that leads to a thesis which critically investigates an approved topic of substance and significance, demonstrates expertise in the methods of research and scholarship, displays intellectual independence and makes a substantial original contribution to the subject area concerned, and is of publishable quality.
