These scholarships are open for students currently studying a property or construction-related course at tertiary level. Each scholarship comes with one year’s financial assistance of $5,000 towards course costs/ accommodation/ travel costs/living /tuition costs, the experience of being directly supported and mentored by a Key Scholarship Partner company team member, site visits, industry networking opportunities, student workshops, access to engaged alumni plus all the benefits of being part of the Keystone family

The Resource Management Law Association of New Zealand Inc (RMLA) scholarships (RMLA Masters Scholarship) are designed to encourage graduate students from a range of disciplines (law, planning, engineering, geography, science, landscape architecture, urban planning and resource management, to focus their research theses or dissertations on topics related to the application of resource management in New Zealand. The RMLA is offering one or more annual Masters scholarships for study at any University.

Supporting tertiary students of Pacific heritage with their education journey and becoming one step closer to entering accounting as a profession. The Pacific Scholarships provide the winners NZ$5,000 each to assist them towards achieving their undergraduate studies. There are two scholarships being offered:
- Accounting scholarship for Pacific students living in New Zealand Aotearoa
- Accounting scholarship for Pacific students residing across the Pacific Islands.

The Prize recognises an emerging scientist who has had their PhD or equivalent qualification conferred within the last eight years. The Prize has a value of NZD$200,000, of which NZD$150,000 must be used to support the recipient’s ongoing work.

This Prize is for a transformative scientific1 advance, which has had a significant economic, health, social, political, cultural and/or environmental impact on New Zealand, or internationally. It will be awarded to a team or an individual instrumental in creating the impact. The transformative scientific1 advance may have occurred over any time-period and there must be a clear indication that the impact on New Zealand or internationally has taken place.
1 Scientific should be interpreted broadly to include natural, physical, mathematical and information sciences, applied science, technology, engineering, social science and multi-disciplinary science
The total value of the Prize is $500,000. $100,000 of this will go directly to the team or individual with no expectations, $400,000 will be used to support ongoing research.

As part of the MESNZ objective "To encourage New Zealand training into tertiary education and technology", a MESNZ Scholarship worth up to $5,000 is to be offered each year, for the specific purpose of covering tuition fees. This scholarship is available to assist students commencing study towards an engineering degree, diploma, apprenticeship or certificate from any year level on the New Zealand Qualification Framework. Applications are sought from candidates interested in maintenance engineering as a career. Students with links to MESNZ through work or other avenues are urged to apply. The MESNZ engineering scholarships are open to applicants from anywhere in New Zealand.

TeachNZ offer Study Support Grants allowing teachers to study or undertake research while continuing to teach. You can also apply for a reimbursement of up to $500 towards your course fees, once you have successfully finished your course.
There are 100 Secondary School Teachers’ Study Support Grants available each year for fully registered teachers, in state or state-integrated schools, covered by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement (STCA).

Every year, Motu Research offers a one-year $10,000 scholarship pool to enhance research capacity in Aotearoa’s Māori community. It is offered to university students of Māori descent who are working on (or are planning to work on) an Honours, Masters or PhD Thesis.
Closes 20 September | Postdoctoral
The Banting Postdoctoral Fellowships program provides funding to the very best postdoctoral applicants, both nationally and internationally, who will positively contribute to the country’s economic, social and research-based growth.
The value of the Fellowship is $70,000 per year for two years.

Members of New Zealand’s Chinese community are being invited to apply for funding from the current funding round of the Chinese Poll Tax Heritage Trust. The Trust aims to create heightened understanding of the Chinese community within New Zealand and strengthen the unique identity of Chinese New Zealanders.
The Chinese Poll Tax Heritage Trust provides recognition of the hardship caused by the poll tax, and is a gesture of goodwill to
poll tax payers, their descendants, and future generations.

Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa (The Cancer Society of New Zealand) is a major funder of life-saving and world-class cancer research through its Research Grants Programme. Hei Āhuru Mōwai (Māori Cancer Leadership Aotearoa) is a network of internationally and nationally renowned Maori cancer experts who deliver indigenous expertise to cancer control in Aotearoa. Te Kāhui Matepukupuku o Aotearoa and Hei Āhuru Mōwai are continuing their partnership this year to award a round of Research Masters and PhD scholarships to Maori Cancer Researchers. The Māori Cancer Research Awards 2023 demonstrate our shared commitment to advance Māori aspirations in cancer research, and our recognition of the importance of representation in the research workforce in achieving this.
To be eligible, you must:
- Be of Māori descent
- Be resident in Aotearoa New Zealand
- Have academic supervision which includes at least one Māori supervisor. Those unable to identify a Māori supervisor are encouraged to get in touch prior to applying.
- Intend to enrol or already be enrolled in a Research Masters or PhD. Those who have not yet enrolled for their proposed course of study but are intending to do so, may apply for this scholarship. In this case, any award will be conditional on the applicant’s successful enrolment in either a Research Masters or PhD at a New Zealand Wānanga or University.
Closes 29 September | Graduate | Postgraduate | Accommodation and meals
The first scholarship provides a supportive environment, including accommodation and meals, for two consecutive month’s full-time study at the Centre. Applicants may be lay or ordained, will hold a recognised level of tertiary education, be committed to an approved subject of study and able to resident at Vaughan Park for the period of the Scholarship.
Applications must be made in writing to the Scholarships Grants Committee of the Vaughan Park Governance Board and will include:
- A short biography
- An abstract and overall context of the study, and
- Be supported by at least two and no more than three references
Applications are also invited for four separate Scholars, Writers and Artists one-month residencies in February, May, August and November 2020. This scholarship provides a supportive environment, including accommodation and meals, for a month’s full-time study at the Centre.
Applications should be made in writing to the Scholarships Grants Committee of the Vaughan Park Governance Board and will include:
- A short biography
- An abstract and/or portfolio and the overall context of the study
- References from at least two and no more than three referees
- Your preference of study period
- References from two referees

The objectives of the Foundation are to support high quality research in New Zealand into studies that address problems in mental health, by providing funding for studies into their epidemiology, aetiology, pathology, clinical presentation, intervention or prevention or towards any one or more related objects or purposes which are charitable in accordance with the law of New Zealand, which related objects and purposes are declared to be the objects and purposes of the Trust.

CPA Australia offers up to two scholarships annually for persons of Māori descent. One scholarship will be awarded to a current tertiary student and one scholarship to a current professional. The scholarships will be awarded each October to the best-qualified applications based on tertiary academic results and will assist recipients to meet education requirements needed to attain CPA status. Scholarship recipients will be exempt from all CPA Program subject fees and first year membership fees as an Associate (ASA).

The Polish Charitable and Educational Trust offers grants to students of Polish descent. Students can apply for a reimbursement of course fees, cost of their textbooks and other course related costs.

The award was established by the Society in memory of Keith Maurice Blumhardt, William Edward Cooper, Douglas Neil McKenzie, Derek Ian White and Marie Pauline Williams, who died on Mt Ruapehu while testing helicopter rescue equipment in December 1982. The award is open annually to any applicant for study concerned with: flora, fauna, geology, vulcanology, weather and natural and human history of Tongariro National Park. Amounts awarded are up to $2,500.
