Computer Labs
Waikato has several options for students without their own device, or for those needing to use specialist software outside of teaching.
24/7 computer labs
Hamilton
The East Wing of Te Manawa Student Centre has 3 levels of computers that are just for students, and accessible 24/7.
There are Mac and Linux computers available on Level 2, Windows computers on Levels 2 and 3, and on Level 4 students can plug their own device into 27-inch monitors using the USB-C docking stations.
Level 2 also has a pod of adjustable workstations.
Printing, scanning and copying is available on each floor.
Tauranga

Remote computer labs
Enrolled students can access computer labs remotely. In particular computers in teaching labs that have specialist software installed on them.
Read our ICT Help pages to find out more about the Remote Computer Labs service and how to connect (login required).
Chromebook loan pool
If you need to borrow a device for a short period, you can talk to the Hamilton Library about loaning a University Chromebook for a trimester.
Discounted ICT for students
Students can take advantage of the discounts offered by PB Technologies for buying computers and other ICT equipment.
There is a PB Tech Shop on the Hamilton campus available to offer advice, help with ordering, and with a stock of common ICT items like mice, keyboards and cables.
