2024 Public Relations Campaigns Award
The client for this year's competition is GoEco Waikato Environment Centre, whose mission is to be an advocate for the environment, a centre of learning, and a catalyst for change.
Date: Thursday, 10 October
Time: 11am to 1.30pm
The aim of the competition
Launched in 2003, the Public Relations Campaigns Competition is a practical assignment as part of PUBRL305, which is the capstone paper for students majoring in Public Relations.
Teams of students are asked to research, develop and pitch their own strategic communication plan for a real client organisation to help solve its problems and identify opportunities for future growth.
Each team’s final plan is then assessed by a panel of expert judges from industry for its professional consistency, evaluation methods, creativity, and responsiveness to the organisation’s needs.
The team with the best overall campaign proposal is named winner of the competition, and they receive an award.
2023 PR Campaigns Competition
Held on 12 October, the client was Single Parent Services Waikato, a not-for-profit organisation that provides counselling services for adults raising a family on their own. The 2023 competition was sponsored by the Baldwin Boyle Group (BBG).
